How to read the result
- The fee is the county-stated fee only. Maricopa County charges per instrument. Harris County charges per page and per indexed name over five. Cook County charges by document class. No plat, copy, or certification figure is computed unless the county page states it.
- Format rules are rejection rules where the statute says so. A.R.S. 11-480 states which failures may cause rejection at presentation. The Cook County non-conforming fee applies where the document does not meet the standard design requirements.
- The affidavit rule is Maricopa County only in this checker. A deed evidencing a transfer of title in Arizona must carry an Affidavit of Legal Value or an exemption notation. No affidavit requirement is stated for Harris County or Cook County, because none appears on the county pages opened.
- Retrieval is not this tool's topic. Copy requests for already-recorded documents are a separate matter and are not covered here.
