Registration Renewal Extension Checker
Most states have no general extension of vehicle registration, and this checker says so plainly instead of inventing one. Virginia has the only general extension found in this set. California has a penalty waiver for deployed owners. Texas has out-of-state self-certification. New York names an extension transaction code and publishes no procedure for it. Pick your situation and see which mechanism, if any, actually exists.

How to read the result
- An extension extends validity. Virginia's extension lets you drive legally for one additional month. A grace period does not change the expiry date, and a waiver does not change validity either.
- Eligibility is narrow. Virginia's extension requires a valid registration scheduled to expire in the month requested, once per registration period. An expired registration cannot be extended under it.
- Open the extension guide for the full rules. The extension guide states each mechanism, its fee, and its limits, with the open flags disclosed.
