Renewal Blocker Checker
A refused renewal usually has one named cause, and the cause differs by state. Pick the state where the vehicle is registered and the situation that matches, and the checker returns the reason and resolution path stated on the official pages opened for the Batch 9 error guides. Where a state page publishes no rule for a situation, the result says so.

How to read the result
- Match the state to the registration, not to where you are. Renewal runs through the state and county where the vehicle is registered. A Colorado result will not explain a Texas refusal, and county rules inside Colorado can differ from each other.
- Treat a "not stated" result as a gap, not an answer. Where the official pages opened publish no rule, the result says so. That means the record must be checked with the county or DMV office named on the state page, not that the renewal should go through.
- Fix the named item, then retry once. Get the test, update the address, settle the citation, or clear the stop, allowing the upload window the county states after a test or insurance change. If the renewal still refuses, use the mail or in-person channel. The full state rules are in the Vehicle Registration Renewal by State directory.

Results from the official California, New York, Texas, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Arizona state and county pages opened 2026-10-31 and listed in the Batch 9 slice B sources file. Facts verified 2026-10-31. Open flags: the Florida FLHSMV renew-or-replace overview page could not be opened in full, so Florida results rest on the FLHSMV page that was opened; El Paso County figures are county-scoped, not statewide Colorado rules; no official error-message list was found for most states on the pages opened.
This page explains how the process works and what the official rules say. It is general information, not legal advice. For a dispute about your specific situation, talk to your state motor vehicle agency or court.
