Small-Claims Court Finder
Pick a county to see which court hears a small claim there, the limit, the form that starts the case, and the filing fee. Only the five counties with a county guide in this batch are included. A field is omitted where the county page did not verify it, and conflicts found on the county pages are stated in the result.
Find the court, limit, form, and fee
Pick a county to see its court, limit, form, and fee.
How to read the result
- The result names one court per county. Small claims filing is county-specific: the court, the form, and the fee in one county do not transfer to another county, even in the same state.
- Limits are not comparable across counties without the tiers. Los Angeles County has two limits, $12,500 for a natural person and $6,250 for a business or public entity, so no single-number comparison is shown for that county. The other four counties show a single-number comparison against the entered amount.
- Fees shown are filing fees only, except where stated. Harris County shows court costs and the constable service fee separately because the county schedule separates them. Service fees that a county page did not state are omitted, not estimated.
- Conflicts are stated in the result, not hidden. Where a current court page and an older court document disagreed, or two official wordings disagreed, the result states both. Confirm the figure with the court before filing.
- Open the county guide before acting. The county directory links every county guide. A finder result is not a filing decision.
