Property Tax Appeal by County
Each county sets its own protest clock, form, and hearing body. This directory states the deadline, form, and hearing body for the four counties with guides, using only figures verified in those guides. A county's deadline is never carried into another county.
Property tax appeals by county
This directory covers filing a protest of an assessed value. It does not cover delinquent property tax sales. Filing mechanics only: no valuation advice, and no claim that a protest will lower any tax bill.

Table notes: Cook County's deadline is typically 30 days after the notice, per township calendar, and the Board of Review closing date is published per township group; the Assessor appeal is online, and the Board of Review accepts online, in-person, or representative filings. Harris County's deadline is whichever is later, and a weekend or holiday deadline moves to the next business day; the form is the Property Appraisal - Notice of Protest. Maricopa County's later stages run 25 calendar days after the Assessor's decision to the State Board of Equalization, or 60 calendar days after the Assessor's decision directly to Tax Court, and 60 calendar days after the State Board's final decision to Tax Court, or December 15 of the valuation year if no Assessor appeal was filed; the petition forms are DOR 82130R for residential, 82130 for commercial, and 82530 for personal property, with Tax Court Coversheet TXSC10f for the small-claims packet; the Tax Court sits in Maricopa Superior Court. Los Angeles County's supplemental, roll-change, adjusted, and escape assessments run 60 days from the mailing date or postmark, whichever is later, and misfortune and calamity runs six months after the mailing date of the proposed reassessment notice; the $46 filing fee is non-refundable and paid on submission.
Tools
Use the Property Tax Protest Deadline Checker to apply a county's stated deadline rule to a notice date. The checker computes no Cook County date, because the notice-printed date and township calendar control there.
