Property Tax Protest Deadline Checker
Pick a county and enter the date on your notice. The checker applies only the rule that county states. Cook County has no single county-wide deadline: the last filing date is printed on the notice and the township calendar controls, so the checker does not compute a Cook County date. Verify every result against your own notice before filing.

How to read the result
- The notice controls. The checker applies the county-stated rule to the date you enter. If your notice prints a different deadline, the printed deadline on your notice controls.
- Cook County has no computed date. The Assessor states the last filing date is printed on the notice, typically 30 days after the reassessment notice, and the Board of Review publishes a closing date per township group. The checker states that rule instead of computing a date.
- Harris County uses the later date. The deadline is May 15, or 30 days after the notice was mailed, whichever is later, with a weekend or holiday deadline moving to the next business day. The checker rolls a weekend deadline to Monday and states that a holiday must be checked against the notice.
- Maricopa County uses 60 calendar days for the regular Notice of Valuation only. Personal-property and business personal-property notices carry their own printed deadlines, which the checker does not compute.
- Los Angeles County regular assessments use a fixed window. July 2 to November 30 each year. Supplemental, roll-change, adjusted, and escape assessments use 60 days from the mailing date or postmark, whichever is later; the checker computes 60 days from the date entered and states the postmark check.
