How to Export a Mailchimp Campaign Report

Mailchimp's campaign report downloads as a CSV spreadsheet of campaign performance data. The path is the same for every standard campaign type — the difference is which report you open, not which buttons you click.

Question Answer
What you get A CSV spreadsheet containing your campaign performance data
Single-report path Click Campaigns, find the campaign, click View report, then open the Actions drop-down and choose Export CSV.
Campaign types covered Regular, Plain-Text, A/B, Multivariate, and RSS campaigns all use the same path: Campaigns → View report → Actions → Export CSV.
Subscriber-level detail No. Subscriber-specific statistics — which subscribers opened or clicked — are not included in the exported report; export the individual open and click reports for that level of detail.
All reports at once Click Campaigns, open the View analytics drop-down, click Download All Reports, then click Generate Export. Mailchimp emails the primary account contact when the export is ready — and automations are excluded from this combined export.

What makes the campaign report export different

This is Mailchimp's native, per-campaign export — not the audience export and not the full account backup, which are separate processes. It downloads one campaign's performance numbers as a CSV you can open in a spreadsheet. What it deliberately does not contain is the per-subscriber layer: Mailchimp's own help page states that subscriber-specific statistics, like which subscribers opened the campaign or clicked a link, are not included in the exported report. If you need that level of detail, export the individual open and click reports instead of expecting them inside the campaign report.

The process, step by step

  1. Export a single campaign report. Click Campaigns, find the campaign, click View report, then open the Actions drop-down and choose Export CSV.
  2. Repeat per campaign type without learning a new path. Regular, Plain-Text, A/B, Multivariate, and RSS campaigns all use the same path: Campaigns → View report → Actions → Export CSV.
  3. If you need subscriber-level detail, export the open and click reports separately. No. Subscriber-specific statistics — which subscribers opened or clicked — are not included in the exported report; export the individual open and click reports for that level of detail.
  4. To export everything at once, use the combined download — with one exclusion. Click Campaigns, open the View analytics drop-down, click Download All Reports, then click Generate Export. Mailchimp emails the primary account contact when the export is ready — and automations are excluded from this combined export.
  5. For automation flows, use the automation path instead. Automations are not in the combined export, so export them one flow at a time — see the Mailchimp automation reports guide.

If you just want to share a report rather than download it, Mailchimp's help page notes two other options: send a shared report email, or use multi-user accounts to share the report with other account users.

The click paths and limitations on this page come from Mailchimp's own help documentation: Mailchimp — Download a Campaign Report. Facts verified 2026-10-24.

This page explains how the process works and what the official documentation says. It is general information, not advice about your specific account or data — exporting reports downloads a copy of your data, so store the file somewhere only people who should see your campaign performance can reach it.
